Write for us
We welcome pitches that help readers understand a developing design idea with clarity, context and a measured eye. Proposals should make a specific subject feel worth a reader's time, whether it concerns a material, a tool, a visual shift or a possible direction for design.
What makes a strong pitch
Tell us the central question, why it matters now, and what a reader will understand by the end. A good proposal has a distinct angle, grounded examples and a clear account of what is known, what is interpretation and what remains uncertain. Avoid pitches that depend on trend claims without explaining their basis.
What to include
Send a short outline, a brief note about your relevant experience, and any sources or examples that help establish the subject. Original writing and careful attribution matter. Please disclose any commercial interest connected to the topic.
How to send it
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. A proposal is not a commission, and we may not be able to reply to every submission.
New design begins as a question
We look for the early choices, materials and ideas that suggest where design could go, without mistaking a passing spark for a settled direction.
